• Remove all packing material.
• Check that the device is undamaged.
• Clean the measuring spoon1.
Inserting/replacing batteries
WARNING! Risk of material damage!
Be sure to observe the correct polarity when inserting
the batteries.
NOTE: as soon as the battery power decreases,
the display2 will show the symbol . The batteries
should then be replaced.
1. Presstheupperapofthebatterycompartment
lid8 towards the battery compartment lid8 and
folditopenwiththeapupwards.Removeany
used batteries.
2. Place the 2 batteries of type AAA, LR03 (each
1.5V),asillustratedinsidethebatterycompart-
ment7.
3. Place the battery compartment lid8 on the bat-
tery compartment7 and press it down until it
snaps shut.
Operation
Switching on and off
• Press the button ON/OFF TARE5. After a test
of all display segments, 0.0g will appear. The
device is ready to use.
• Press and hold the button ON/OFF TARE5 to
switch off the device.
• Thedevicewillswitchoffautomatically1minute
after the last button is pressed or the last meas-
urement.
Changing unit of measurement
• Press and hold the button ∑/UNIT3 to switch
between grams (g) and ounces (oz).
Weighing
1. Switch the device on using the button ON/OFF
TARE5.
2. Fill the measuring spoon1 with the contents to be
weighed.
3. Hold the device horizontal and steady in your
hand by the handle6, or place the device on
aatsurface.Ifnecessary,holdtherearendof
the handle6 steady to prevent the measuring
spoon1 from tipping over on the surface.
4. If necessary, press the button HOLD4 to keep
the measurement result displayed. The display2
will show HOLD.
5. Empty the measuring spoon1.
6. Before a new measurement, press the button
HOLD4 again.
Weighing liquids
• The device can also be used for weighing liquids.
The scale of the measuring spoon1 displays
quantities of 15 - 45ml or 1-3tablespoons(tbsp).
Adding weights
NOTE: it is not possible to change units of measure-
ment while adding.
You can display multiple individual measurements
(eachuptomax.300g)addedtogether.
1. Switch the device on using the button ON/OFF
TARE5,andmaketherstmeasurement.
2. Press the button ∑/UNIT3. The display2 shows
the measurement and ∑.
3. Empty the measuring spoon1andrellit.The
display2 will now show the total weight of the
two quantities.
Steps 2. and 3. can be repeated until a total weight
of3kgisreached.Ifthistotalweightisexceeded,
the error message 0-Ld will be displayed.
Tare function
You can also weigh food in containers.
1. Switch on the device using the button ON/OFF
TARE5, and place the container in the measur-
ing spoon1.
2. Press the button ON/OFF TARE5 again. The
measured value is set to 0.0g, and TARE appears
in the display2.
3. Removethecontainer,andplacethelledcon-
tainer in the measuring spoon1. The display will
now show the weight of the content.
4. If required, press the button ON/OFF TARE5
again to perform another measurement with the
lledcontainer.
5. Removethelledcontainerandpressthebutton
ON/OFF TARE5. The spoon scale may now be
used for measurements without a container.
Cleaning / storing
CAUTION: do not use any abrasive or chemical
cleaning agents. These attack the surface of the
device!
1. Clean the device with a slightly damp cloth.
2. Inordertocleanthemeasuringspoon1, remove
it from the handle6 and clean it separately in the
dishwasher.
3. Dry the device well before using it again.
• When no longer using the device, store it in a
place where neither high temperatures nor mois-
ture can affect it.
• In order to avoid unnecessary loads on the spoon
scale, separate the measuring spoon from the
handle.
Disposal
The symbol showing a wheelie bin
crossed through indicates that the prod-
uct requires separate refuse collection
in the European Union. This applies to
the product and all accessories marked
withthissymbol.Productsidentied
with this symbol may not be discarded with normal
household waste, but have to be taken to a collec-
tion point for recycling electric and electronic devic-
es. This disposal is free of charge. Protect the envi-
ronment and dispose of waste properly. Further

your household waste. Spent batteries
must be disposed of properly. Special

your device is provided with a 3 year warranty start-
ing with the purchase date. In the event of product
defects, you are entitled to statutory rights against
the vendor. These statutory rights are not restricted
by our warranty presented in the following.
Warranty conditions
The warranty period starts with the purchase date.
Please keep the original purchase receipt in a safe
place. This document is required to verify the pur-
chase.
If within three years from the purchase date of this
product a material or factory defect occurs, the
product will be repaired or replaced by us – at our
discretion – free of charge to you. This warranty im-
plies that within the period of three years the defec-
tive device and the purchase receipt are presented,
including a brief written description of the defect and
the time it occurred.
If the defect is covered by our warranty, the repaired
or a new product will be returned to you. No new
warranty period starts with a repair or replacement
of the product.
Warranty period and statutory claims
for defects
