INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
PREPARATION
• Before each use, thoroughly clean the device as described in the
“maintenance” paragraph.
• Place the device on a flat, rigid surface, leaving a sufficient, obstacle-
free space in front of the device in which to place the bags containing
the food to be packed.
• Check that the drip tray is inserted in its slot.
• Plug the device in and check that the blue indicator light on the “SET”
key lights up.
• Insert the food to be packed evenly in the bag. Check that the bag is 8
cm longer than the food to be preserved.
• Lift the lid.
You can select the sealing time of the device based on the food being
packed (see the paragraph on “Function descriptions”). The machine
is automatically pre-set to the “Standard - SET” function.
After changing the sealing time setting, it will be stored until the device
is disconnected from the power supply.
USE WITH BAGS
1. Position the open end of the bag inside the vacuum chamber as shown
in figure 2. Position the bag, which has only one embossed side, with
the smooth side facing upwards.
Make sure the sealing point, inside of the bag, is clean and free of any
particle of food. The bag must be perfectly stretched and without any
creases.
2. Lower the lid and hook it to the base of the machine, by pressing the
handle downwards. The first segment of the LED progress bar will light
up.
3. Press the “Automatic/STOP” key to start the automatic vacuum and
sealing process. The segments of the LED progress bar will gradually
light up. During the sealing phase, the light on the “Seal” key will come
on.
4. Wait until light on the “Seal” key goes out. Open the lid by lifting the
handle.
5. Check that the bag is properly sealed and place it in the refrigerator,
freezer or storeroom.
USE WITH ROLLS
Using the roll, it is possible to prepare bags of the desired length specific to
the type of food being stored.
1. Determine the bag length based on the length of the food being stored
and add at least 8 cm.
2. Cut the roll to the desired length using the cutter supplied.
3. Position one of the two open ends of the bag on the sealing bar. With
rolls that have only one embossed side, position the smooth side facing
upwards.
4. The bag must not protrude from the vacuum chamber / drip tray or on
the gasket seal.
5. Make sure that the bag is fully stretched out, clean and without any
creases.
6. Lower the lid and hook it to the base of the machine, by pressing the
handle downwards. The first segment of the LED progress bar will light
up.
7. Press the “Seal” key to start sealing. When the light on the key goes
out, the sealing has finished.
8. Open the lid by lifting the handle.
9. Check that the bag is properly sealed.
10. Continue as described in the paragraph on “USE WITH BAGS”.
MANUAL VACUUM PACKING
Total air extraction using the automatic method tends to crush and damage
foods with a more delicate consistency (such as strawberries, berries,
breadsticks, vegetables, etc.); in these cases, it is therefore possible to use
the manual vacuum, interrupting air extraction when necessary.
Manual vacuum sealing is indicated also for the packaging of very wet foods
such as cooked vegetables and sauces in that it prevents the machine from
aspirating these liquids that could damage its internal components.
1) Position the bag and hook the machine lid as described in points 1 and
2 of the “Use with bags” section.
A vacuum can be manually generated in two ways:
a. Press the “Automatic/STOP” key to start air extraction.
Carefully watch the air being extracted from the bag, and when
necessary stop the vacuum process by pressing the “Seal” key.
b. Press the “Pulse/Vacuum” key to extract the air, and when necessary
stop the vacuum process by pressing the “Seal” key.
2) Lift the lid and check that the bag is properly sealed.
USE WITH CONTAINERS (not supplied)
Using Laica canisters.
Before each use, make sure that the lid, canister and canister seal are
completely clean and dry.
1. Fill the canister up to a maximum of 2 cm below the top edge.
2. Put the lid on and, for the VT3304 model only, turn the air valve on the
lid to the "•SEAL" position.
3. Connect the container tube by inserting one of the two ends into the
socket located on the machine lid, and the other end into the socket
located on the container lid.
4. Hook the lid onto the base of the machine by lowering the locking
handle.
5. Press the Canister” key to start the automatic air extraction procedure:
the indicator light on the key will come on. The segments of the LED
progress bar will gradually light up. Wait until light on the “Canister”
key goes out.
6. Remove the tube from the container and the machine, place the
container in the fridge, freezer or storeroom.
VACUUM PACKING FOR LIQUIDS
To vacuum pack liquids they should be pre-frozen.
Put the liquid food in a suitable container, put it in the freezer for about 12-
18 hours then remove it from the container and put it in the bag for vacuum
packing. Remove the air and seal the bag as in section "Instructions for
use - use with bags" then put the bag in the freezer.
