• When the appliance is used in a bathroom, unplug it after use since the

proximity of water presents a hazard even when the appliance is switched

off!

• Never put the appliance on soft cushions or blankets during operation!

• Afteruse,orifpausingforasignicantlengthoftime,disconnectthe

appliance from the mains and let the appliance cool down!

• Do not place the appliance or the connecting cable on hot surfaces e.g.

cookerorsimilarorinthevicinityofopenames!

Warning! Risk of burns with hair spray!

• Neveruseammablesubstances,e.g.hairspray,stylingmousseetc.,on

your hair before using this appliance as this may cause burning when the

substance comes into contact with the straightening plates!

• The appliance may only be used on dry, natural hair. Do not use on

articialhair!

• The appliance is not suitable for straightening animal hair!

• The installation of a faulty current protective device with a rated breaking

current offers you additional safety by ensuring that 30 mA will not be

exceeded in the house installation. Let your installation electrician advise

you!

• Remove the plug from the mains:

- if the unit does not function properly;

- before cleaning;

- after every use.

• Do not pull on the connecting cable and do not carry the unit by means of

the cable!

• The appliance is only intended for straightening and styling human hair.

• No liability is accepted for any damage resulting from use for other

purposes, faulty operation or amateur repairs. Guarantee services are also

excluded in such cases.

• The appliance is not intended for professional purposes!

• Only specialists are allowed to do reparations. Improperly reparations can

cause considerable danger!

• There is always risk of injury when using electrical appliances improperly!

• To prevent unintentional misuse, keep the appliance stored away in a safe

place.

• Always disconnect the appliance from the mains and allow the appliance

to cool down before cleaning and maintenance, or if faults occur during

operation!

• Do not use the connecting cable to pull on the plug nor remove the plug

from the socket with wet hands!

• Protect the appliance from moisture. Never put it into the dishwasher.

Never immerse it in water!

Preparing the hair

• Wash and towel-dry your hair.

• Combyourhairthoroughly.Donotusehairsprayorotherammable

chemical hair care products.

• Place a hand towel around your neck to prevent the possibility of skin

burns.

Switching on the appliance

• Use the locking disc f to open the appliance (see g. 1). Insert the mains

plug and switch on the appliance using the ON/OFF switch b (see g. 2).

Thetemperaturecontrollights1-3illuminateimmediately,the4thashes

until the appliance has reached its pre-set temperature of 160°C (see g.

3).

The pre-set temperature is reached after approx. 1 minute.

Setting the temperature

• Select the suitable temperature for your hair type. Notes on this are found

in the table below!

Setting lower temperature levels

• Press the – key repeatedly on the rocker switch c until the required
