Thank you for purchasing this high-quality product made by ADE. You have acquired a

set of scales that meet the highest technical standards and are of proven quality.

Please read these operating instructions carefully before using the product for the first

time and keep them in a safe place where you can find them whenever you need the

information contained in the instructions.

1. Preparation for use

Inserting the batt eries / Replace the batteries:

To replace the batteries open the lid of the battery compartment. Move the battery at the

recess downwards. In this way, the battery will be easy to take out. Make sure that you

do not bend the contact. Insert the new battery (1 x CR2032) and close the lid of the

battery compartment.

Safety guidelines:

Ensure that no objects fall onto the scales; otherwise, the scale

may be damaged.

Only use a damp cloth to clean the scales. Never use solvents

or abrasive cleaners. Do not put the scale under water. You

must clean all the plastic parts of the scales immediately after

they come into contact with grease, spices, vinegar or any other

strongly spiced or coloured foods. Avoid any contact with citric

acid.

Please note that only the bowl is dishwasher safe.

2. Handling

Switch-on the scale:

Place the scales on a firm, level base. Switch-on the scales by pushing the ON/OFF-key.

At first, the display indicates all characters and after the scales levelled-off, the

indication will be “0 g“ or “0.0 oz“ according to the setting. Now the scales are

ready to use.

Automatic-/manual switch-off the scale

If the indicated weight does not change within two minutes, the scales will automatically

switch-off. To save the battery you can switch-off the weighing function manually by

pushing the ON/OFF-key.

Units of weight:

It is possible to change the unit of weight for country specific setting g =

gram to oz = ounce) by pressing the g/oz-key. Please pay attention to use the

scales under consideration of your country specific unit of weight.

Tare-function:

Use the TARE-key to set the scale to “0 g”. Place for example a bowl on the

weighing platform. Upon the weight is indicating press the TARE-key to set the

indication again to “0 g”. This process is repeatable until the max. capacity of

the scales (5000g) has been reached. After you remove the item(s) to be

weighed, the total weight is displayed as a minus value.

3. Error Messages

Indication that the battery is flat – Please replace the battery with

one CR2032.

Overload display – The 5000g maximum capacity of the

scales has been exceeded. Immediately remove the load

from the scales; otherwise, the load cell could be

damaged.

5. Guarantee

ADE guarantees to rectify any defects due to material or manufacturing defects by means

of repair or replacement free of charge for a period of three years. In the case of guarantee

claims, please return the scales together with the sales slip to your retailer and stating the

reasons for the claim.

Open the lid of the battery compartment on the bottom of the

scale and remove the battery safety strip. Please observe the

correct polarity of the battery (+/-).
